Hi! I’m Ann Hall and I started Hall’s Ecademy back in 2002 with the aim of helping parents like you take on the responsibility of educating their children.

Let me share something about my own background.

I grew up with my family in Africa, however, when schooling became an issue, it was clear that there were few options. We could have gone to a local school, of variable quality, or we could have gone to boarding school ‘back home’. As it was, the choice was made for us and we moved back to England as a family.

However, I have many friends whose families faced similar issues and who resolved them in a variety of ways:

Some went to local schools, reaping the benefits of education in another culture. However, many found it difficult to reintegrate into the British system when they returned home.

Others went to boarding schools, gaining strength and independence. However, this was difficult for families who felt torn apart at the beginning of each term.

Still others were home schooled and reaped the benefits of personalised teaching. This was a tough option for parents, requiring them to be responsible for the full curriculum of their child’s studies and constantly worrying that they were not learning enough.

Now, as a qualified teacher with over a decade’s experience in education, I feel that I can make the home education option more feasible for families who face this choice. In addition, a growing number of parents in the UK are dissatisfied with the state education system and are pursuing alternative ways to educate their children. Ultimately, all parents want to see their children achieve their maximum potential by developing their knowledge and abilities in the most appropriate environment. Home education is becoming the choice of an increasing number of parents.

At Hall’s Ecademy we offer pre-prepared lessons that follow the National Curriculum for England and Wales. We also offer support and advice from qualified teachers – a shoulder to lean on – as well as regular assessment of your child’s progress. My hope is that we can enable more families to take on the task of educating their children at home by providing them with a viable alternative to traditional education.
